  • Home or gym, and it works around your fixtures
  • Direct access to me and weekly plan adjustments

Twelve weeks from today, one of two things is true.

Twelve weeks is most of a season. You can spend it doing what you have always done, buying a driver and hoping, or you can spend it changing the engine that swings the club. The club cannot get any better than the body holding it. Twelve weeks from now you will either be moving better and swinging faster, or you will be twelve weeks older with the same back and the same slice.

Nothing changes

  • Still giving away yardage to people you used to outdrive
  • Still stiff and sore in the lower back the morning after a round
  • Still hanging on by the 14th and scoring like it
  • Still working on the swing while the body doing the swinging gets worse

You do the twelve weeks

  • Turning more freely through the ball because your hips and mid back actually rotate
  • Stronger and lighter, with less in the way of the swing
  • Walking off the 18th with something left rather than counting down to the buggy
  • Building speed from strength, so the gains hold rather than fading in a fortnight

You have been fixing your swing when the problem is the body swinging it.

You have had lessons. You have had a fitting. You have watched more slow motion video of your own takeaway than any grown man should admit to. And yet the ball goes shorter than it used to and the back end of the round falls apart. That is not a technique problem you can coach your way out of. If your hips will not turn and your mid back is locked, you will keep making the same compensations no matter how good the instruction is.

Distance comes from how fast you can move, and how fast you can move comes from strength through the ground, rotation you can actually access, and the ability to sequence it. If the middle is soft, the power leaks. If the hips are stiff, the lower back takes the load instead, which is exactly why the ache shows up there and nowhere else.

Then there is the endurance side, which nobody talks about. Eighteen holes is four or five miles of walking, dozens of full effort swings and hours on your feet. If you are gassed by the 14th your concentration goes before your swing does, and the scorecard picks up the difference. Getting older is not the reason you are playing worse. Doing nothing about the body is.

  • You are losing distance and you can feel it, not just measure it
  • Your lower back is tight or painful the evening after a round
  • You are running on empty by the 14th and your scoring shows it
  • Your gut is genuinely getting in the way of your turn
  • You have accepted that getting older means playing worse
The method

The LR12 Method

LR12 is twelve weeks of online coaching aimed at the three things that decide how you play: how well you move, how strong you are, and how much you are carrying. Three to four sessions a week, 30 to 45 minutes each, at home or in a gym. You get a training plan built for you, video demonstrations for every movement, nutrition targets, habit tracking, direct access to me and a plan I adjust every week around your rounds, your fixtures and anything that gets in the way. It is all delivered through a coaching app so your session is on your phone wherever you are.

1
Weeks 1-2

You move freer through the ball

We open up the hips, mid back and shoulders first, because you cannot build speed through a range of motion you do not have. Most golfers feel the turn change before anything else does.

2
Weeks 3-4

The gut starts shifting

Nutrition targets come in properly now alongside the training, and the weight starts moving. Less in the middle means a cleaner turn and less work for the lower back to absorb.

3
Weeks 5-6

Playing partners notice

Strength work steps up through the legs, hips and trunk, which is where the ground force behind a drive comes from. This is usually where somebody in your fourball asks what you have been doing.

4
Weeks 7-8

18 holes stop wrecking you

We build the conditioning and back end strength that carry you through a full round on your feet. The aim is that the last four holes feel like the first four rather than a survival exercise.

5
Weeks 9-10

Real clubhead speed

With the movement and the strength in place, we train speed itself, fast and explosive work you were not ready for in week one. This is the phase designed to turn everything you have built into swing speed.

6
Weeks 11-12

A body built to keep playing

We turn the programme into something you can run in season, around competitions and society days. The goal is a body that holds up for years of golf, not one good summer.

My guarantee

If you do the work and you are not down 5 to 10lbs at the end of the twelve weeks, I keep coaching you for free until you are.

No quibbles and no forms. I can offer that because the plan is built around the week you actually have, so doing the work is realistic rather than heroic. If life genuinely gets in the way, we adjust the plan, we do not write off the twelve weeks.

What you get

Everything that makes twelve weeks actually work

A training plan built for your golf

Built around rotation, ground force and the positions your swing asks for, plus your fixtures, your equipment and your injury history.

Video demonstrations for every exercise

Every movement is demonstrated so you know exactly what it should look like. Nothing in your programme is left to interpretation.

Nutrition targets that shift the gut

Clear targets rather than a rigid meal plan, and they are written to work with early tee times, halfway huts and the clubhouse afterwards.

Habit tracking

Sessions, steps, sleep and food logged in seconds. It shows us both what a real week looks like, including the ones with 36 holes in them.

Direct access to me

Message me when the back is grumbling, when you have a competition coming up, or when you are away and short on kit. You hear back from your coach.

Weekly plan adjustments

I review your week and change what comes next, so training sits around your golf rather than leaving you stiff on the first tee.

This is for you if

  • You play regularly and want to still be playing well in ten years
  • You can commit to three or four short sessions a week, most weeks
  • You accept that speed is built in the gym and not bought in a pro shop
  • You want to lose weight as well as add distance

This is not for you if

  • You want a swing coach, because that is not what I do
  • You want speed without doing any strength work
  • You are looking for a device or a drill that fixes everything in a fortnight
  • You are not willing to change anything about how you eat

It depends on how hands-on you want me to be, so we agree the exact plan on your free call. No hidden fees and payment plans are available.

Who you would be working with

I am not coaching this from a lifestyle you do not have

I am a dad with a demanding full time job who trains around the same constraints you do, and I build around the sport rather than borrowing from bodybuilding.

I coach one to one from a private setup in Cuckfield, and LR12 is the same thinking built for people I cannot get in a room. Everything in it exists because it survived contact with a real week, mine included.

I will also tell you on the call if I do not think I am the right person to help you. That has cost me clients and it has never once cost me sleep.

No surprises

What happens after you apply

01

You fill in the form

Name, email and a number. It takes about thirty seconds and costs nothing.

02

We have a free call

Around twenty minutes. Your goal, your history, your week. At the end I tell you honestly whether the twelve weeks would work for you.

03

If it is a fit, you start

Your plan is built and you begin within days. If it is not a fit, I will say so and point you somewhere better.

Questions before you apply

How much does it cost?

It depends on how hands-on you want me to be, so we agree the exact plan on your free call. No hidden fees and payment plans are available. You will know exactly what you are paying before you commit to anything.

How much time will it take on top of my golf?

Three to four sessions a week at 30 to 45 minutes. Sessions are planned around your rounds so you are not walking onto the first tee with heavy legs, and the whole plan is written out for you in advance.

What equipment do I need?

It can be done at home or in a gym. Some kit helps, particularly dumbbells or a band, but I write the plan after you tell me what you have rather than assuming a full gym.

I have never trained in a gym. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and beginners often see the biggest change in how they move. Every exercise has a video demonstration and we start at a level you can complete properly before we add any load or speed.

Will this replace my lessons?

No, and it is not meant to. I am not your swing coach. My job is to give you a body that can do what your swing coach is asking of it, which usually makes the lessons work better rather than worse.

My back already hurts. Should I be lifting weights?

For a lot of golfers the right strength work is what settles the back down, but if you have any health condition or existing injury please speak to your GP before starting. Tell me about it on the call and I will be honest about whether I can coach around it.

Book your free call and let us look at your game.

Leave your name, email and phone number and I will get in touch to arrange a call. We will talk through how you move, how you play and what twelve weeks could realistically do. No pressure and no pitch.

If you do the work and you are not down 5 to 10lbs at the end of the twelve weeks, I keep coaching you for free until you are.
